Skanska Construction contacted us for a magnetic printed dry erase board for their pull planning meetings. We developed this Pull Planning Whiteboard which is completely customized to their needs. Pull Planning is a technique that is used as part of the Last Planner® System to develop a coordinated plan for one phase of a project.
The purpose of pull planning is to design a project-based production system in conformance with lean principles. Like all aspects of Last Planner, it is a collaborative approach that includes those who are directly responsible for supervising the work on the project
The Pull Planning whiteboard we developed is 72” tall by 20’ long. The board consists of (6) printed dry erase boards. The overall size of the board is based on the size of the wall that was available.
Magnet Accessories
Skanksa also purchased numerous different magnets.
• Skanska purchased (832) dry erase colored memo magnets in (13) different colors cut to the same size as a Post-It® note. The magnets are designed to be used in the squares of the board. They use a different color for each subcontractor.
• Skanksa also purchased 3” x 9” white dry erase magnets that they could include a new task on the middle of the row.
• The last magnet that Skanska purchased was a 24” x 36” plain white dry erase magnet. The purpose for the large temporary dry erase magnet was to have an area that they place over the Pull Planning Meeting board without losing the information on the pull planning board. This magnet can be removed and stored until it is needed again.
